ScareHouse is now located within The Mall at Pittsburgh Mills.
No more parking hassles!
Since 2013 The Basement has featured a series of intense, intimate and R-rated horrors that challenge the limits of fear for anyone 18 years or older and willing to sign our waiver.
While we encourage Pittsburgh fright fans to visit ScareHouse this year, The Basement will not return until the risks of COVID are further minimized. Those of you who have experienced The Basement in previous seasons know that it is a highly tactile and intimate experience involving close physical encounters with intense performers and situations – none of which is advisable during this unprecedented and still ongoing pandemic.
Stay safe, stay scared, and we look forward to freaking you out again as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Absolutely not. The Basement is designed to provide boundary pushing, intense, thrilling, and emotional experiences in a safe environment.
ScareHouse’s “The Basement” productions may contain high voltage effects, sexual content, very low lighting, tight spaces, strong scents, profanity, moments of complete darkness, water, exposure to electricity, violent situations and high impact scares. Not recommended for pregnant women or people with heart conditions or respiratory problems. Comfortable shoes recommended, no heels or sandals.
Yes, The Basement is wheelchair accessible.
If you have an emergency or are too scared while walking through “The Basement” and need to be escorted out, please yell the word “BUNNY” as loud as you can. Stay where you are, remain calm, and someone will come to get you and bring you out. Once you call “BUNNY”, there are no refunds and there are no options but to leave.
